>> Friday, November 28, 2008

This is the worst kind of situation any city might have faced. And i am writing this post just in tribute of all the brave men of our country who lost their lives in this attack by terrorists.

Alice in chains

>> Sunday, November 9, 2008

Conceived during a Seattle party in 1987, Alice in Chains ascended to stardom by advancing the 1990s grunge scene alongside Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, despite lying sonically closer with heavy metal and hard rock. Dark, intense, and harrowingly introspective, Alice in Chains offers a bleak portrait of life’s most unspoken afflictions. And yet still, the band has always maintained a distinct melodiousness which propels them far beyond the confines of genre, reaching an audience as wide-ranging as their music’s themes are universally relevant. The result of this unique appeal is clear, having sold more than ten million albums worldwide and gathering six Grammy nominations. The band suffered the tragic death of singer Layne Staley in 2002, but their legacy remains as leaders of a rare breed of heavy metal bands worthy of critical acclaim while staying true to their down-tuned, nihilistic base. 2005 saw the newest stage of the band, introducing vocalist William DuVall and bringing Alice in Chains to a whole new generation of fans. After that never heard about the band ever, some say it didnt work out too well with the new vocalist. After all the fan following was mostly due to the so called for the fans "Layne Staley"

Smells like Nirvana

>> Saturday, November 1, 2008

This is on band which can never be forgotten, although Nirvana grunge days are so long gone but still we see a lot of kids who are new to rock music following Nirvana. I started off listening to Nirvana when i was in the 8th grade thats like 10 yrs back but the magic of this band never dies. It has truely achieved "Moksha" as the name of the band depicts. Kurt Cobain lives forever and so does his music. The great talent is still surviving and kicking ass. Drummer Dave Ghrol started with his new band "Foo Fighters" after the Nirvana reign which is a major hit. Bassist Chris Novoselic started off with "Sweet 75" which went on for a while but could not make it big. Well this was just in the memory of this great band here are the two rare videos not very famous though but i like them. Hope you guys like it too Enjoy!!!
